There are no submission fees and the article processing charges are waived for all authors submitting their paper to the Depiction of Health, the open access publication of which is subsidized by Tabriz University of Medical Sciences Department of Vice Chancellor for Research. Non-commercial uses of the work are permitted, provided the original work is properly cited. The authors of the articles that appear in the Depiction of Health retain the copyright to their work. Depiction of Health provides immediate open access to the articles.
The manuscripts submitted to the journal of DOH are sent to the reviewers only if they are in the scope of the journal topics. All manuscripts are first internally peer reviewed by the editorial board to decide whether the manuscript is in accordance with the journal’s scope and has met publication ethics criteria and if so, it has an adequate standard to be sent for external review. Approved papers will be sent to three external peer-reviewers. If the comments from two reviewers differ markedly, the editor may ask for further comments from reviewers. Authors are notified about the editor’s decision to accept or revision as soon as possible. The process about accepting or rejecting the article takes 1 months and the process time from the date of submission to publishing is 4 months. Upon the acceptance of the manuscript, it is reviewed by English editor for language errors. This journal uses double-blind review. (Both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process).
Authors are assumed that they are aware of publication ethics, specifically with regard to authorship, dual submission, plagiarism, figure manipulation, competing interests and compliance with standards of research ethics. In cases of suspected misconduct, COPE standards and practices will be followed and advice from the COPE forum will be ascertained.
If plagiarism is detected during the peer review process, the submission may be rejected. If plagiarism is detected after publication, we reserve the right to issue a correction or retract the paper, as appropriate. We reserve the right to inform authors' institutions about plagiarism detected either before or after publication. COPE flowcharts are followed if plagiarism was detected.
